Walking the line: Navigating Asia's journey to a sustainable future

The urgency to decarbonise Asia has never been greater as the region, which accounts for half the world’s carbon emissions, strives to meet the Paris Agreement’s ambitious goals. With rapid economic expansion fuelling skyrocketing infrastructure needs and energy demands, the challenge to transition from brown to green seems almost herculean. Yet, there is hope. Asia also houses vast natural carbon sinks, is a hotbed of innovation for breakthrough technologies, and is experiencing a generational shift in adoption of digitisation and sustainable practices.

The central question – how can Asia strike the right balance of people, profit and planet, to navigate the twin goals of economic development and environmental sustainability? This session brings together eminent policymakers, technologists, financiers and market-makers to discuss these complex issues and explore our best options for driving Asia’s transition.
