Joy Wann is Vice President in the Global Regulatory Affairs Advocacy team at Mastercard, which is responsible for Mastercard’s policy and regulatory engagement on matters related to digital innovation. Prior to joining Mastercard in January 2023, Joy worked at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) where she was a Project Lead and Advisor for the BIS Innovation Hub and a Member of the Secretariat for the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. She has represented both Mastercard and the BIS at various international payments, CBDC and fintech related forums, including the WEF, IMF, FSB, CPMI, and ECB. Before joining the BIS, Joy worked at the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority and the Macquarie Group. Joy holds a PhD in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
