James is a Partner with Oliver Wyman, based in Sydney, Australia. He leads our AI and Data Science capabilities in Australia and our Digital Assets Platform for Asia Pacific. Prior that that James was part of Oliver Wyman’s global Data Science and Engineering senior team, based out of Boston and then New York.
James specializes in advanced analytics and technical solution development, and has deep experience in large language models, predictive analytics, risk, and pricing, and is focused on delivering impact through the application of machine learning and the deployment of innovative, sustainable technology solutions.
Much of his work is focused on financial services, specifically around anti-financial crime, but he regularly spends time in other industries and supporting the FinTech ecosystem.
James holds a PhD in astrophysics from the University of Cambridge, a first-class masters with honours in physics and astronomy from Durham University, and contributed to research at the University of Oxford’s Planetary Astronomy and Science department. He has completed executive education at Wharton and INSEAD business schools.
