German Vegarra is the founder and CEO of ADAPTA Inc., a pioneering climate technology company that provides innovative risk management software tailored for financial intermediaries. ADAPTA also specializes in structuring and delivering blended climate finance solutions, empowering commercial banks and credit unions to support the agricultural sector effectively. Established in 2022 with the backing of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, ADAPTA is at the forefront of integrating climate resilience into financial systems.
German has a distinguished track record as an intrapreneur at the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he developed flagship products that set industry standards. Notably, he created the Global Trade Liquidity Program (GTLP), the only G20-endorsed facility addressing the Global Financial Crisis in 2008, which established a platform approach for managing subsequent economic disruptions. He also spearheaded the world’s first blended finance fund for agriculture, GAFSP. His dual residence in Washington, DC, and Nairobi, Kenya, positions him at the nexus of global finance and agricultural development.
