Bob leads the registered charity, WorkWell Leaders, that focuses on making employee mental health and wellbeing a strategic business growth and ESG priority for CEOs and Boards. He believes that systemic transformation must start with leaders to create thriving, resilient and productive workplaces. Bob joined WorkWell Leaders in 2022, after deciding to step away from the corporate sector to use his skills to give back to society.
Bob has over 20 years of experience as a regional CEO growing communications and technology businesses across Asia Pacific. He spent 16 years at Edelman, where he grew the Southeast Asia business by 800% in 8 years, establishing Edelman as by far the biggest and broadest agency in the region. He subsequently headed up North Asia where he grew the businesses in Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong to become the largest multinational agencies in their markets whilst also reaching the top three in China. He spent his last few years at Edelman as a regional CEO and head of operations and clients across Asia Pacific transforming the structure of the agency as well as significantly growing the size of the agency's key client relationships across the region.
As a leader, Bob attributes much of his success to his focus on enabling human-centred organisations that place talent development at their core. He has long been a champion of DEI and at Edelman transformed the Asia Pacific leadership teams in every market to reaching equal gender parity.
Prior to Edelman, Bob was CEO, North Asia for Axway, a global technology and services provider, where he almost doubled the size of the business. He has lived and worked in the Asia Pacific region for thirty years.
