Michael Biel is State Secretary for Economic Affairs in the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises in Berlin. He holds a diploma in political science from Freie Universität Berlin. Biel has extensive experience in the German Bundestag, where he worked in several positions from 2004 to 2021 for various members of parliament. In December 2021, Biel was appointed State Secretary. In 2023, he was able to enter the Berlin House of Representatives. Biel was reappointed State Secretary for Economic Affairs in April 2023 and in this process gave up his mandate as a member of the Berlin House of Representatives.
