Nam Tran is an entrepreneur based in Vietnam, with experience in technology, fintech and banking. In banking, Nam has led technology and operations as CIO and COO at several banks, most recently at Vietcombank, a top bank in Vietnam. Previously, he also helped advise Timo, the first digital bank in the country.
In fintech, Nam Tran has co-founded and built a couple of payments companies. As the founder and CEO of Moca, he built the mobile payment startup and helped turn it into the payments arm of Grab in Vietnam. He then run and helped advise Grab Financial Group in Vietnam. Nam now focuses on tackling the finance gap problem for small and micro enterprises in Vietnam.
Earlier while in the US and Australia, Nam worked as a Program Manager at Microsoft Redmond after earning a PhD in Software Engineering from Monash University in 2005, and degrees in Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology.
