Atty. Paolo M. Ong, CPA, serves as the Assistant Director of the PhiliFintech Innovation Office, under the Office of the Chairperson, at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines, where he is deeply involved in shaping regulatory initiatives to accommodate the rapidly evolving fintech landscape. Before joining the SEC, he was formerly an IT Risk Associate from SGV & Co. (Ernst & Young Philippines), where he had experience in information systems audit of different companies in various industries including telecommunications, broadcast media, and manufacturing, among others. Atty. Ong participated as a keynote speaker and panelist at multiple conferences. Notable engagements include the UNODC Cryptocurrency Working Group, Fintech Philippines Association’s Meeting on Regulatory Sandboxes, Development Academy of the Philippines and Asian Productivity Organization’s Training Course on Design and Evaluation of Innovation Policies, and SEC CAN Webinar on Digital Assets.
