Hara is a Cofounder at Cascade Climate. Cascade is a global nonprofit working to accelerate progress with interventions that harness Earth’s natural systems—from soils, to oceans, to glaciers, and more—to help stabilize our climate. Their current focus is to advance the development of a healthy, thriving market for enhanced rock weathering, an agricultural carbon removal approach.
Hara has been at the forefront of climate-tech innovation. She co-founded Third Derivative---RMI's breakthrough technologies platform. She led high-impact investments and venture acceleration partnerships across the climate-tech space. Her team selected and supported 110 climate tech startups in North America, south Asia, southeast Asia, and Africa, and fostered a global ecosystem of co-investors including 18 climate-tech funds and 10 Fortune 500 corporations.
Hara's expertise spans carbon removal, industrial decarbonization, electric transportation, renewable power and beyond, and she has an academic background in chemical and environmental engineering.
