TÖDEB is a professional organisation, established as a legal entity with the status of a public institution. Payment institutions and electronic money institutions operating in Türkiye are required to become members of TÖDEB, as mandated by Additional Article 1 of Law No. 6493 on Payment and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services, and Electronic Money Institutions.
Its objectives include:
Contributing to the development of the sector by fostering communication and cooperation among all payment and e-money institutions in Türkiye
Keeping up with financial sector developments, sharing and disseminating information, and supporting technological and process-related advancements in the sector
Promoting sector growth through training, promotional, and research activities
Enhancing financial inclusion and literacy through targeted communication efforts
Collaborating with national and international organisations to promote payment and electronic money institutions and raising public awareness on these matters
