Matthias Pfenninger

Matthias is a seasoned technology leader with over a decade of experience across AI, Big Data, FinTech, and IT solutions. As Head of Technology and Senior Solutions Architect at ACTICO, he leads AI initiatives across the APAC region, drives new business opportunities, and elevates the company's brand. His expertise in AI Proof of Concepts, strengthening partnerships, coaching colleagues, and ensuring exceptional client support has resulted in significant project wins and revenue growth. Previously, as Lead Big Data Engineer, Matthias implemented and managed Big Data and AI projects across finance and other sectors in EMEA. He spearheaded the development of MLOps frameworks, led presentations and trainings, and played a key role in building the company’s brand through meetups. In his team lead role, he coached and mentored team members, fostering a culture of growth and excellence. Earlier in his career, as a Software Engineer and Product/Operations Lead, he implemented data-driven automation that improved service reliability for Switzerland’s most popular TV streaming platform, used by over 1 million customers, and enhanced team productivity at the country’s largest telecom provider. In addition to his professional work, Matthias has been a part-time substitute teacher for high school students, where he enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for physics and math. Communicating complex ideas in a simple and engaging way has been a challenge fascinating him throughout life.
