Yagub is heading up a regulatory sandbox at Astana Financial Services Authority, an independent financial services regulator within the Astana International Financial Center. The sandbox allows firms to test their services in Kazakhstan before deciding to setup a full-scale shop.

AFSA has recently adopted a new Digital Asset Activities framework capitalizing on the pilot project it did with digital asset exchanges and commercial banks in Kazakhstan to open up fiat gateways in the country.
