Ryan heads up Strategic Investments across Europe and Asia at Barclays. Based in London, he is responsible for originating, executing and portfolio managing all strategic principal equity investments made by Barclays in external companies across these regions.  

Ryan joined Barclays in 2011 as an M&A advisor in the investment bank, covering UK and European corporates and private equity companies. In 2013 he joined the Barclays Strategy and Corporate Development team, where he acted as a principal in originating and executing M&A transactions on behalf of the Barclays Group (globally and across all business units).

Prior to Barclays, Ryan was at Nevsky Capital, a $7bn long/short equity asset manager, where he was an investment analyst and covered a range of sectors including oil & gas, chemicals and agriculture and was based in London. Previously, he worked at Deutsche Bank as a corporate finance advisor in the Industrials practice across Europe and based in London. 

Ryan holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford and also holds an MA (Oxon) from the University of Oxford.
