Parminder is passionate about business models at the intersection of technology, content & commerce.
He has held senior leadership positions in Google, Apple and Twitter and is currently the Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Digital Officer with Mediacorp, driving the revenue and digital transformation functions.
Mediacorp’s successful turnaround from a traditional Singapore broadcaster to a diversified digital forward business across content, commerce and creator economy has been driven by several initiatives under Parminder’s leadership, such as, SocialHub - Singapore’s largest creator marketplace, Bloomr – Singapore’s largest MCN, AdDirect - a self-serve campaign platform, Singapore Media Exchange – a programmatic ad-exchange, Mediacorp Partner Network which includes partnerships with YouTube & ESPN, a new ‘outcome linked-data based’ ad-revenue model and a redesign of the content management system, news & entertainment apps and OTT & Audio platforms.
Mediacorp’s English news channel, CNA, recently won the global gold for Best News Website at the 2022 Digital Media Awards Worldwide and Parminder has been regularly recognized as the Top 50 technology leaders in Southeast Asia.
In his previous roles, as Twitter’s Managing Director for Asia, Parminder set up the social networking company’s operations in its highest growth markets. As the Managing Director for Google, he grew the display advertising business into a multi-billion dollar operation in Asia Pacific and was one of the driving forces behind the IPL-YouTube partnership, one of the first live sports streaming monetisation initiatives worldwide.
Parminder has been actively involved in exploring the use of technology for positive societal change and is the founding member of @incrisisrelief, one of the largest citizen-led disaster relief technology initiatives.
He is also the founder angel of The/Nudge, an action institute working towards a poverty-free India and is an active adviser/investor in several start-ups across Asia.
