Sikang (Richard) is the Head of Open Source Program Office of Ant Group. Since joining Ant Group in 2020 as a technical strategy planning expert, Sikang has been working on crafting strategic initiatives in areas like Privacy Enhancing Technology, Insurtech and Open Source Software, then began dedicated all his efforts and spearheaded Ant Group’s first Open Source Program Office. Through his perseverance and dedicated initiatives helping technical projects to grow into successful open source products, Ant Group now has a fully dedicated Open Source Technical Committee, and a heathy pipeline of technically savvy open source projects which spans across multiple technical disciplines, including but not limited to Graph Database, AI Infrastructure, Secure Infrastructures, Privacy Enhancing Computation, and a mature set of Frontend technologies.
Prior to joining Ant Group, Sikang was a software engineer with Square Inc (now Block Inc) for 5 years from 2016 to 2020, and with Microsoft before that. Sikang held a degree of Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Toronto, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. He spent more than 4 years in 4 different countries each, including China, Singapore, Canada and the United States.
