Benedikt Signer is Executive Director and Board Member at the Southeast Asia Disaster Risk Insurance Facility (SEADRIF) Insurance Company. SEADRIF was established under an ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers mandate to develop and implement financial solutions to protect vulnerable ASEAN countries against climate risks and disasters.

Before joining SEADRIF, he spent over a decade at the World Bank and supported more than 20 countries in actively managing climate and disaster risks across the globe. He was also closely involved in the creation and implementation of multiple global initiatives, including the G7-V20 Global Shield against Climate Risks. With a strong believe in the importance of stronger training and capacity building, he co-led the establishment of the World Bank’s Financial Protection Academy which has by now reached over 30,000 people in more than 100 countries.

Benedikt has also advised the Asian Development Bank and worked with select global universities and private sector organizations on financial planning for climate risks. He is involved in several technology organizations related to climate and is Senior Advisor at the Resilient Planet Finance Lab, hosted at the University of Oxford. He has a Masters of Science of Global Politics from the London School of Economics.
