Li Ming is the Director of Data Management and Statistics Department at Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). She oversees the compilation, management and dissemination of statistical and regulatory data in BNM. Li Ming was appointed to her current role in Sept 2020 and has accumulated broad range of experience spanning portfolio management, research and risk management.
Li Ming is the head of secretariat to the Joint Committee on Climate Change’s Sub-committee on Bridging Data Gaps, where she coordinates effort across the financial sector and government to resolve climate data gaps. She is also the co-chair of the NGFS Expert Network on Data that aims to build expertise among members and provide advisory/support on climate data initiatives.
Li Ming graduated from University of Cambridge, with an MA degree in Economics. She is a CFA charterholder.

They will help to overcome many challenges, such as data gaps and risk modelling. In this panel, speakers will discuss the latest trends in climate related-technology as well as how data and innovation can be a transformative force in managing climate-related financial risks.
A key focus will be on the development and use of data directories and catalogues, such as the NGFS Data Directory and repositories at the nation-level. Panellists will share their experiences in creating and using these tools, discussing how they complement each other and contribute to better management of climate-related financial information.
