Manager Sustainable Finance Hub, Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA)
Georg Lehecka is Hub-Manager of the Sustainable Finance Hub at the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA), being responsible for the coordination of sustainable finance and sustainability risk issues. In his role, he does also represent the FMA in national and European committees and working groups.
Before he joined the FMA, he had not only worked professionally in the financial market and asset management industry in Europe and the US, but also as economic researcher and lecturer. His academic background ranges from economics, finance, statistics, business law, philosophy and history from the University of Vienna, the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Data, technology and innovation are projected to play a critical role in scaling climate action in the financial industry. They will help to overcome many challenges, such as data gaps and risk modelling. In this panel, speakers will discuss the latest trends in climate related-technology as well as how data and innovation can be a transformative force in managing climate-related financial risks.
A key focus will be on the development and use of data directories and catalogues, such as the NGFS Data Directory and repositories at the nation-level. Panellists will share their experiences in creating and using these tools, discussing how they complement each other and contribute to better management of climate-related financial information.
