Chi Xiang is a Senior Market Analyst and ASEAN Lead at Climate Bonds Initiative. Based in Kuala Lumpur, he leads market research, policy engagement, stakeholder outreach, technical assistance, and capacity building initiatives for Climate Bonds in Southeast Asia. He is also currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the CFA Society Malaysia, overseeing its advocacy and regulatory engagements.
During his stint with the Malaysian securities regulator, he was a core member of a Ministry of Finance working group tasked to formulate a responsible investment framework for government-linked investment companies in Malaysia, and supported the development of a sustainable investment taxonomy for the capital market. He was also involved in several sustainable finance initiatives at national and international level, including the Joint Committee on Climate Change, ASEAN Capital Market Forum and the International Organization of Securities Commission. Prior to that, he worked with a Malaysian pension fund, covering fixed income research, investment strategy formulation and asset allocation monitoring.
