Professor Charles Smith focused on research in quantum physics for many years as a professor at the University of Cambridge department of physics before joining Hitachi to manage the Hitachi Cambridge Laboratory (HCL).
At HCL he has been contributing to a wider company team focused on delivering quantum computing technology based on silicon processed devices.
