Aaron Chua is a regulatory compliance leader with close to two decades of experience in digital assets (stablecoins and payments) and traditional finance (private wealth and brokerages).

Aaron is currently the Regional Head of Compliance for StraitsX, the only regulated private stablecoin issuer of the Singapore dollar, and is part of the management team. He has strategic oversight and responsibility for licensing, business conduct, anti-money laundering and terrorist and regulatory matters. Under his leadership, StraitsX received approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore for 4 Major Payment Institution licenses, two of which allows the company to offer digital payment token services.

In 2017, Aaron left the banking sector and started his digital assets and crypto journey overseeing compliance for crypto exchanges. Prior to joining StraitsX, he was the Director of Compliance and Deputy Anti-Money Laundering Officer for Crypto.com.

He is also a Non-Executive Director of Fraxtor, a tokenized real estate co-investment platform, and an Advisor to Dawn Protocol, a real-world asset-backed stablecoin lending and borrowing protocol.

Aaron started his career as an auditor and Assistant Director with the MAS’ banking supervisory department. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
