As the Global Head for Affluent Client Segments, Lay Choo leads the global client proposition and client management standards for Standard Chartered’s wealth continuum from mass affluent to High Net Worth clients across Asia, Middle East and Africa
Prior to this, Lay Choo was based in Hong Kong for over 5 years. She was the Managing Director, Head, Consumer, Private and Business Banking (CPBB), Hong Kong, where she led the Hong Kong business. Before that, she was the Regional Head, Wealth Management for Greater China and North Asia (GCNA) and Global Head, Wealth Proposition. In her regional role for GCNA, she was responsible for the wealth management product strategy and capabilities, and led the overall performance of wealth management across its Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Korea businesses. In her role as Global Head, Wealth Proposition, she had applied her extensive experience in wealth management to numerous initiatives, including the development of our digital wealth strategy, the wealth specialists operating model and installing best practices across markets.
Lay Choo has been with Standard Chartered Bank since 2011
Lay Choo joined Standard Chartered from Citibank Singapore, where she held various senior consumer banking roles over 16 years. She was the Head of Retail Banking for Citibank Singapore, where she led the Wealth Management business and Sales and Distribution for its retail branches, Citigold and Citigold Private Client business.
