Masakazu Osawa was appointed MUFG Chief Executive for Asia Pacific on 1 April 2023. He is responsible for overseeing the safety and soundness of the bank’s operations across the region as well as business promotion led by the Global Corporates, Japanese Corporates and Commercial Banking business groups.

Prior to the current appointment, Mr. Osawa was Head of Digital Service Business Group and Chief Digital Transformation Officer (CDTO), responsible for driving MUFG’s digital transformation to achieve sustainable growth and enhance shareholder value over the medium-to-long term.

A seasoned banker with over 30 years of experience, Mr. Osawa has played instrumental roles in managing and driving MUFG’s businesses and digital strategies for growth.

Mr. Osawa holds a Master of Laws from the University of Chicago Law School in Illinois, USA. He also has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo, Japan.
