Ziad Haider is a Partner at McKinsey & Company where he co-leads McKinsey's geopolitics practice and counsels Boards and CEOs on capabilities and strategies around navigating geopolitical uncertainty.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Haider served in the US government including in the US Department of State as Special Representative for Business Affairs and a Senior Advisor on Geoeconomics to the Secretary of State; the US Department of Justice as a White House Fellow in the Office of the Deputy Attorney General; and the US Senate as a foreign policy aide.
He practiced international law at White & Case LLP specializing in CFIUS, export controls, sanctions, and investment disputes.
His writings on international affairs have appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, and the Nikkei Asia among others publications.
Haider serves on the board of advisors of the International Rescue Committee, a leading global humanitarian and development organization, and is a senior advisor with the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS).
Haider received his B.A. from Yale, M.P.A. from Harvard, and J.D. from Georgetown and was a Fulbright Scholar in Malaysia.
